Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club
The Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club was started in October, 1966. A meeting was held at the home of Mrs. George (Dot) Bishop for the purpose of instituting a Woman’s Club in the Myrtle Beach Area. The club was founded as a Federated Woman’s Club, the original constitution, with minor modifications over the years, has remained as the foundation of the group. We possess a great interest and enthusiasm for promoting educational, social and civic progress for the Grand Strand, the state and the nation.
Now, more than fifty years later, the Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club continues to live up to the values set by our predecessors. Our fundraising efforts on behalf of community has had many firsts. Among these firsts, the city’s “Just Say No” program, also the “Trash Bash” which underwrote the expense of bringing a recycling program to Myrtle Beach and then “Gardens by the Sea”. This park is the first collaboration with the City of Myrtle Beach that continues as a living project.
We are also very proud of the three canine officers that we presented, over the past 3 years, to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club is firmly committed to promoting “volunteerism” and the Caring for our Community through the service and leadership of its members.
Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club is a volunteer organization composed of women who are dedicated to serving our community, while providing members the opportunity for personal growth and developing leadership skills through participation in projects and social activities.
